I have always loved the way James Ron Rodriguez leads worship and he delivered again this time. More so, Andrew Alava was also here with his guitar, playing some awesome music. I hope that they would consider doing a CD.. I love hearing OP 2.0 sing and play.. they always lift up my spirits and calm my soul. Praise through songs is a wonderful, uplifting thing. I have missed hearing them play. Then Pastor Jose Bourget said some very kind words, followed by several others... I couldn't help by cry of course, you all know me... we were affirmed and shown love and comfort through words and music. Then everyone gathered around us to pray for us and anoint us. I was so touched that they included Frendell as well. That was a first for us. Usually, he is the one doing the anointing and I'm in the circle around the person. There is something humbling about being the one who is prayed over and being lifted up to God. Somehow it bares your soul and there's no one but you and God. Everything's laid out on the table. At least that's how it felt like to me. I am comforted by the fact that so many of you are praying for us and our medical team. God has been so faithful and He has provided us with a community of people who are wiling to sacrifice their time to cheer us up, help us in so many tangible ways, bring us food or take us out or have us over for dinner, paint our rooms, fix the door knobs and carpet our bedroom, clean our house & unpack some things, take me to mani/pedi, and pray for us. Some of you have also provided financially.. and this has helped us offset the medical bills. How can we ever say thank you to all of you, for your generosity and kindness to us... We can only offer our thanks, our love and our prayers in return. If we are ever given the opportunity to serve you and return your generosity, may we live up to that responsibility as well as you have. May God bless all of you and keep you in His loving care.
On Sunday, Dana (my friend from Cook County days), gave up her Sunday morning to bring me breakfast and spend some time with me. It was great to be able to catch up on things and she made me laugh and smile and fed me a wonderful panini sandwich :-) In the afternoon, I was able to do some laundry and rest a bit. Then Meng and Anta came over for a visit.. i saw pictures of Anta's recent trip to England and heard all about Meng's new/old love :-) Can't believe she's working at Schwab Rehab Hospital in Chicago.. some of you may remember that I worked there when I moved to Chicago after we got married oh so many moons ago. I went to bed shortly after they left.. it's been a very exciting and full week.. Haven't done that much in a week's time in almost a year.. I was tired but enjoyed every minute of it.
Today is "take it easy" day. I'm going to Kris, my faithful hairstylist. I know most of you, if you were going to the hospital, won't even think about your hair. But Kris understands the complexity of my coarse hair and knows my vanity, so she's given up a part of her day off to wash and set my hair, so it won't be 2 feet high after I've been laying down for 12 hours post-op. If you've ever seen my hair after i've slept, especially during humid days, you know I'm not exaggerating when I say I look like a cross between Marge Simpson and Cathy (the cartoon). Enough said about that :-)
Have a great day everyone. I will try to update pictures today.
Ate Glady Dear,
ReplyDeleteWe're realy thankful for your blog. We viewed it tonight and we're glad that you're having a nice time there. We hope we can see some more of your pics there together with pastor Frendell. You're so fortunate to be surrounded by a nice circle of friends there. We're happy to hear that you're enjoying the support and care of your loved ones. How I wish we could be there also to share some time with you. As of now all we could offer is our assurance of keeping you both in our prayers. God will never fail us. Goodnight!!
