grateful

Last night, the Langtiw invited us over for dinner, to celebrate friendship and also as a "hurrah" for Faith and me. She's also having surgery at the end of this month. They had Hawaiian food and it was delicious. And our other friends, Hanna, Jim, Sharon & Jason  were also there. Due to all the surgeries I've had in 2008, I haven't been able to go to church recently and it was great to spend time with our friends from church. We had such a great time and even talking about medical things (husbands/boyfriends did not join in coz it made them queasy) had a humorous twist to it. I am so grateful to Faith for taking the time out of her busy schedule to plan and make this happen. We laughed and talked and just spent time being... thanks Faith and Nunay...

Today, Winnchee is going home. I am so thankful that she came to visit us this week-end. Even though her visits are never long enough for me, it was so neat to have her here. She helped us so much, putting up pictures, putting the dresser together, hooking up the stereo, making me laugh and cry... talking about so many things, planning for future events we can do, like cancer walks and the Midnight Madness 25-mile Bike Ride. She's always had a special place in my heart and I am blessed to have her in my life.  We had fun talking with our other sisters in California yesterday morning - ah, the beauty of 3-way calls. Ats & Candy, you are missed greatly with all the fun we're having here.

And last night, I got a call from my" otha sista from another motha" here in Chicago, Carol. Thanks for calling and cheering me up, Carol. You've always taken such great care of me here. I've missed you and I'm glad we'll be able to get together this week...

How can I not be grateful?  So many of you, our dear family and friends, have shown your love and concern through prayers and cards and emails and flowers and hugs and even your tears.  God continues to show His faithfulness through you and your goodness.  He has been my comfort and my strength.

have a great day... I know I am planning to enjoy today, even though I will cry when we take Winnchee to the airport...

  1. Hi Ate Glady,

Thanks for the invitation to your blog. I did receive your email a few weeks back, thank you for re-sending it, though. I've been thinking of you and praying for you. I hope to see you soon. It's really weird that your wireless isn't working still - mac's usually save the settings on the keychain. You could try and call apple support, they're usually good about help over the phone. It's probably the last thing you want to do right now, I can only imagine! I sent you a card but it was before I knew you moved so I hope it gets to you soon. Take care!

    Love,
    Rachel & Sean

  2. May God take great care of your life. He always has and will continue to do so.

May Frendell take care of your heart. He has cradled it in his arms since the day you both laid eyes on each other.

May Frendell also take care of your mind. He has always talked you through things and has helped you come to peace with your decisions.

May Faith take care of your feet. Since we did not get our pedicures yet, you will have nice fluffy socks to hide those toes.

I thank God for bringing you into my life. I look forward to eating many more Hawaiian meals with you. I thank you for listening to my heart.....sometimes it is happy and at times it is sad. You always know the right stuff to say. I thank you for putting my mind at ease by giving me insight on which direction to go in my many dilemmas in life. I will be wearing thick socks along with you, my friend, so our toes can go into hiding until we can get to that nail spa.

    hee hee! :)
we must mix tears with laughter
