what I did while waiting

While waiting my friends came to take me out to lunch.  Thanks guys.  That was great food and great conversation.  That just doesn't sound like what guys do, but it was a gesture that helped me make it through a tough day.  When I finally heard the waiting room desk attendant tell me that the surgery is over and Glady was well and the surgery went well, I'm not sure I could express the relief and joy I felt.  I didn't think I should get a close up of her after surgery, but seeing her breathing and smiling at me even though she could barely open her eyes...it was the best part of the day.  Thank you God for the miracle and gift of good news.  Since He has helped us through this mountain, I look forward to see His hand guiding us through the next phase of our journey of healing.  Today started at 4.00 A.M. and now it's past midnight and I still just want to stay up and thank God for a beautiful day.  I'm sure she's sleeping now, probably pushing that morphine button as many times as she is awake.  If any of you have any comments for her, feel free to share it and I will tell her.  Good night everyone.

  1. Frendell,
Please send my love to Glady! I hope she is able to get good pain control and is resting peacefully. What floor is she on? If she is on 4Tower the nurses are great in general! I heard the 7th Floor nurses are great as well. Anyway, I pray that she is able to heal quickly from this phase and that the news is as good as possible from the docs!
    In Him,
    Sally

  2. Hi Kuya

I'm so glad the Ate's surgery went well. I wish that Ate doesn't have to go through all this, but God has a different plan. I'm praying for Ate's quick recovery. Love you both.

    Karen.

  3. Tell her that she looks fab with that hair!! As long as we are dolled-up, we can face anything!! Ok, enough of the vanity (I thought a little humor mixed in would be fun!). She is doing really well, it sounds, and God is giving her more energy little by little, moment by moment, to kick this thing. Take one moment at a time Glady....easy does it! :)

  5. Hi frendell,
Thanks for updating us on Glady's surgery/recovery. Initially, we were very sad to hear that she needed to go through another surgery, but now we are glad that it is over and that the surgery will help her get better. We know that she will be uncomfortable and in a lot of pain, but we know that she's a tough girl and will be able to get through it. Love you and see you soon. Tell Glad that her hair looks HOT!
